2018 Conferences You Really Want to Attend


It’s that time again! Conference season. I’ve updated my list and I’m excited to announce I’m speaking at two this year so far. You can find me at NACCAP and GMAC (more details listed below).




June 5-8, 2018

What it is: North American Coalition for Christian Admissions Professionals

Type of Conference: Development for Christian college, graduate school and seminary admissions personnel across North America.

Type of Attendees: Undergraduate, graduate, and seminary professionals such as Directors of Admissions, VP of Enrollment, Asst. Directors, admissions counselors, recruiters.

Size: 300+ attendees

Location: Langley, British Columbia, Canada


GMAC Annual Conference

June 27-29, 2018

What it is: Graduate Management Admissions Council

Type of Conference: Development and annual conference for members, typically administrators of graduate management education.

Type of Attendees: Admissions, marketing, and program managers at the graduate level (i.e. MBA programs and the like) across the country and internationally.

Size: Over 600 attendees

Location: Boston, MA

July 16-18, 2018

What it is: National Association of Baptist Enrollment Professionals

Type of Conference: Designed for any Baptist school in the country (i.e. Mississippi College, Baylor University, Oklahoma Baptist, Gardner-Webb, etc.)

Types of Attendees: VP/Dir. of Admissions, VP/Dir. of Marketing, Deans of Enrollment, Asst. Directors, Admissions Counselors

Size: Around 100 – 125 participants

Location: Missouri Baptist University, Saint Louis, Missouri


National Small College Enrollment Conference

July 16-18, 2018

Type of Conference: Professionals from small colleges and universities across the country.

Type of Attendees: Admissions, enrollment management, and retention professionals at small colleges.  The majority of attendees are at a Director level or higher.

Size: Attendance varies between 125 and 195, with the average being about 150 individuals from between 70 to 95 different colleges.

Location: Louisville, KY – Seelbach Hilton Hotel



September 27-29, 2018

What it is: National Association for College Admissions Counseling

Type of Conference: Professional development conference of networking, educational seminars, speakers.

Type of Attendees: This conference is for admissions counselors and officers, Directors and VP’s around the country.

Size: Over 7,500 admissions professionals attend the national conference.

Location: Salt Lake City, UT


Digital Summit Charlotte

October 3-4, 2018

Type of Conference: This is a professional development and educational conference for marketing, web, creative, technology leaders. Digital Summit hosts these types of conferences all over the nation.

Type of attendees: AEs, Media Relations specialists, media planners, technology gurus, app developers, web designers, marketers

Size: 300-450 attendees

Location: Charlotte, NC (And many others)


HighEd Web

October 21-24, 2018

What it is: Higher Ed Web Annual Conference

Type of Conference: annual conference for higher ed web professionals for higher ed professionals looking at unique digital issues facing colleges and universities.

Type of Attendees: higher ed professionals working to design, develop, manage,, and map the future of digital in higher education.  Web designers, digital marketers, social media managers, designers, writers, etc.

Size: 300-500 attendees

Location: Sacramento, CA


AMA Symposium for Marketing of Higher Ed

November 4- 7, 2018

What it is: American Marketing Association Symposium for Marketing in Higher Ed

Type of Conference: Development Conference for any marketing professional in higher ed from colleges to agencies to consultants

Type of Attendees: CEOs, Presidents, VPs, Directors, AEs, Admissions Counselors, Public Relations, Media Relations

Size: 1,200+ attendees

Location: Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek, FL

What it is: Public Relations, Information, and Marketing Association of North Carolina

Type of Conference: For all North Carolina community colleges

Type of Attendees: Public Relations, Media Relations, Marketing, Webmasters, Web Designers

Size: 80-100 attendees

Location: TBA, North Carolina

CACRAO - Conference recommendation


Date TBA: Typically in December

What it is: Carolinas Association of Collegiate Registrars & Admissions Officers

Type of Conference: Professional development conference for any higher ed institution in North or South Carolina.

Type of Attendees: Directors of Admissions, Admissions Counselors, Registrars, VPs of Enrollment

Size: Best guess – maybe 200-300 attendees

Location: TBA, North or South Carolina
